<p>If you are putting together a route, I cannot recommend the Yamanami Highway enough. The sweeping curves up towards the Kuju Mountains and the loop around the Mt. Aso caldera offer some of the most breathtaking riding you’ll ever experience. Also, if you’re heading further south, taking a detour through the palm-lined coastal roads of Miyazaki or visiting the incredible rock formations at Takachiho Gorge is highly worth the extra mileage.</p><p>On a side note regarding the downtime on these tours—after a long day of navigating those mountain passes, there’s nothing better than soaking in an onsen and chilling at your hotel or ryokan. My riding buddies and I usually play some mobile games to unwind in the evenings. If you’re into card games to kill some time at the lodge, I recommend grabbing the Latest Holy Rummy APK.
